Skin Bleaching

Skin Bleaching

Skin bleaches are used to help lighten pigmented areas of the skin that have become damaged.

Blotchiness can be caused by over exposure to the sun or from acne and other skin irritations, and bleaching is a relatively successful method of eliminating or reducing the impact that this blotchiness can have on your overall skin tone.

There are several products on the market that can be bought over the counter for skin lightening but for really effective results you'll need to see a skin specialist and get products that have a stronger percentage of the required ingredients to effectively change the color of any pigmentation problems.

The two ingredients that are most commonly used in these bleaching products are kojic acid and hydroquinone.

Cosmetic companies will generally use hydroquinone in their products and while they can do a good job for some people, others will find that it is not effective at all.

The cosmetic companies use a very small percentage of those in their products, and that is why if you're serious about bleaching your skin then you really need to see a skin specialist who can give you a stronger formula.

If you decide to try to do the skin bleaching yourself then test products on an area that can remain hidden if there is a problem and this is one of the reasons why it is always recommended that you see a specialist when dealing with your skin as you can do more damage than good.

A specialist will test your skin before applying any ingredients that could cause irritation or adverse reactions.

Skin bleaching takes quite a long time and for many people it can take several months before they see any sign of change so don't expect pigmentation problems to disappear overnight.

If after several months you don't see any changes then it is highly unlikely that you will benefit from continuing with the process.
